If an X-ray examination has shown that you have insufficient bone tissue, a procedure such as sinus lift is mandatory and is the only thing that will solve the problem of placing implants. The specialists at Vishnyak Dental Clinic have extensive experience in this area: such procedures have been carried out over a long period with excellent results. Every client is unique, so for each individual patient we develop a special programme based on the features of their body.

The upper jaw is located below the maxillary sinus, and if the patient upper-jaw bone is too thin, placing implants is simply impossible. In that case bone augmentation must be performed.

The sinus lift procedure raises the floor of the maxillary sinus, and the space created is filled with bone material. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia or in a state of medication-induced sleep.

When should a sinus lift be performed?

A sinus lift is advisable in cases of bone-tissue atrophy (a consequence of tooth extraction), and also when the bone tissue is insufficient due to the anatomical structure of the jaw.

Types of sinus lift

The closed type of sinus lift is advisable in milder cases, when the bone tissue is less than 7 mm thick. This procedure takes no more than 10-15 minutes.

The open type of sinus lift is performed when there is insufficient bone tissue. And within 2 or 3 months full formation of strong bone is ensured.

For a positive result, it is recommended to strictly  follow all the doctor instructions. And in just two or three weeks your smile will be stunning.
